Since its inception, the race has evolved to include honoring the fallen heroes of air medical, EMS, fire and police, as well as the beloved Friends of AirLife founder, Jim Ulrich, who lost his battle with leukemia in Dec. 2006.

Organizers of the event, the Friends of AirLife, dedicate the proceeds from this year's event to the maintenance of the AirLife Memorial Park and continued EMS education, including the Jim Ulrich Silver Falcon Award for EMS leaders. Additionally, proceeds provide assistance for the families of EMS personnel who have been injured or killed in the line of duty.

The AirLife Memorial 5k/10k Run and 5k Walk is $30 for adults and $15 for children (17 and under) prior to race day. Race day registration is $35 for adults and $17.50 for children.
