The 1st Annual Super Mom 5K Run/Walk hopes to create an empowering, uplifting and inspirational event that celebrates "Super Moms' everywhere. It will also raise awareness of teen pregnancy, fatherless homes and single parenthood. Registration will begin at 6:30 a.m. There is a $35 entry fee for runners who register on race day. However, discounts are available online by pre-registering on the Darcy J. Foundation website at http://darcyjfoundation.com. Runners will also have the option to race as a team with friends, co-workers, etc.
Immediately following the race there will be an awards ceremony. Awards will be given out to the top 10 overall runners, both male and female. Awards will also be given out to the largest team, top fundraising team and the team with the most moms. Following the race, there will be a Kids Fun Run that is free of charge for children ages 10 and under. There will also be a "Family Fun Zone," with snacks and refreshments that will be available from approximately 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. The recognition of race sponsors will take place at 10:00 a.m.
