HONG KONG, October 28, 2010 (Press-News.org) Oct. 26 -- Bloggers who are bilingual in both English and Chinese now have an innovative new blogging platform on which to express themselves. According to ECPod's Lead Programmer Michael Robinson, ECPod is the first blogging platform available where blogs are translated by human translators for no charge.
Michael has been involved in ECPod since the conceptualization of the project in December 2009.
Said Michael, "ECPod offers numerous advantages to both social and commercial bloggers. We are hosted in China, and therefore there are no IP-hosting issues. Our bi-lingual platform can reach out to over 1.5 billion readers in China and an equal number of others worldwide. And ECPod actively sources for associated advertisements to bring income to our bloggers."
This multi-lingual trend amongst social media sites is likely to be the next big wave as users seek to engage readers from other countries, versed in other languages. This is especially true of enterprises seeking to expand their international reach by "talking" to locals in their own language.
"No translation software can approach the expertise of a human translator," says Michael. "That is why ECPod prides itself on utilizing human translation services to accurately portray what the original article is trying to say. Our users have been extremely satisfied with the standard of translation offered by ECPod so far."
This can be seen from the exponential growth in active users ECPod has been experiencing. In the past 3 months, ECPod has seen the number of users increase from 2,300 to 36,000. This explosive growth can be attributed to ECPod's ease of use, reach to readers, and of course, its free translation service.
Aileen Saw, owner of five-month old blog http://raisingrockstar.ecpod.com, says, "My family moved from Singapore to Hong Kong 6 years ago. We intend to raise our son here, and he may be more comfortable reading Chinese than I am when he grows up. That is why I chose ECPod to host my blog. My blog is meant to be a record of our memories as Ryan (her son) is growing up. ECPod has done an admirable job of translating my thoughts into Chinese, and I am sure my son will have a lovely time reading through our memories in the distant future."
There are plans to extend multi-lingual translation services to other languages besides English and Chinese in the near future, and this may well be one of the keys to promoting a truly global social media culture.
Interested bloggers are welcome to log onto http://www.ecpod.com to experience the ECPod ease of use for themselves.
