In the early morning hours on March 15, 2013, two people were killed and one injured by a wrong way driver on Lake Shore Drive. According to Chicago Police, an off-duty North Chicago Police Officer, identified as Terrell Garrett, entered southbound Lake Shore Drive heading in the wrong direction.
