Football Match Fixing Will Soon Be The Subject of a New Mobile Video Game

With scandals around match fixing touching the very highest reaches of international football, including giant competitions like the UEFA Champions League, developers Game Changer Games offer players a new twist on the football management game.

2013-04-16
SEATTLE, WA, April 16, 2013 (Press-News.org) Independent game development team Game Changer Games are currently running a Kickstarter campaign to raise funding to complete and release Game Changer - The Football Match Fixing Game on mobile and tablet platforms.

This free-to-play game puts an interesting and humorous spin on the match fixing scandals that have rocked the sports world in the past couple of years, by putting the player in the role of a corrupt individual named Mr Fixit who wants to make a fortune and improve his credibility in the criminal underworld by fixing and betting on football matches.

The game takes Mr Fixit around the world, allowing him to meddle with all kinds of different international leagues by doing things like bribing referees and players, and setting up blackmail situations. He makes his money and raises his influence by placing different bets on the outcomes he has tried to engineer, and by doing jobs for nefarious crime bosses. Mr Fixit also has to strategically avoid getting found out by police and officials, or find a way to encourage them to turn a blind eye to his shady dealings.

With a fun cartoon art style that provides an interesting contrast with the dark subject matter, and plenty of humorous characters, items and situations, Game Changer is designed to offer football lovers and fans of crime games, betting and sports simulators an addictive gaming experience that will also amuse and entertain them.

"We started off with the idea of a game like Football Manager, but skewed to be about corrupting and fixing matches instead of traditional football game elements. This was expanded with the kind of mini quests and character progression you get in crime games like Mafia Wars and the social elements and fun graphics of games like The Simpsons: Tapped Out. Game Changer also has fun and challenging gambling portions which progress from offering the player simple betting options to more strategic and advanced bets - even when you have fixed a game to the best of your ability there are still things that can go wrong and stop you from winning your bets." Say the developers.

Game Changer Games are a new Seattle based development team who are also all hardcore football fans. The team came together specifically to build this game because they loved the idea so much, and it was important that not only should the team have the right blend of skills to design and develop the game, but that everybody on board had to be enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the football world.

The team are now running a 30 day Kickstarter campaign to fund completion of the game, and are hoping to build a great community of backers and future players who can help them turn this unique concept into a popular and addictive game.
