TOLEDO, OH, April 17, 2013 (Press-News.org) On Thursday, March 28th 2013, members of the Alpha Phi Omega Toledo chapter volunteered their time and energy to raise funds for Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Hospice of Northwest Ohio has been serving families of the Toledo community since 1981 and recently earned the Northwest Ohio Non-Profit Excellence Award. The services they provide our loved ones and families are indispensable to us and our health care system.
The event was hosted by Sukit Hookah at their Toledo location at 3354 Dorr St. Several APO members acted as guest baristas to serve those in attendance. The baristas donated 100% of the tips they earned as well as all proceeds from raffle tickets and other activites. In addition, Sukit Hookah donated 10% of net sales during the event, amounting to about $375, to APO and Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Other donations were made by local businesses including, Jimmy Johns Subs, Barry's Bagels, Pita Pit, Gradkowski's Grill, College Ruled, Oasis, Claddagh Irish Pub, J-cups Pizza, Steve Wherry, and both of the University of Toledo Bookstores. A total amount of roughly $425 will be donated to Hospice of Northwest Ohio on behalf of the Alpha Phi Omega Toledo chapter, thanks to the assistance by Toledo's local community.

Sukit Hookah: Sukit Hookah is a contemporary spin on venerable tradition. [Their] philosophy is one of service over product, substance over image, education over promotion, and dialogue over monologue. "Our entire company, from ownership to servers, is deeply vested in the community. Our organizational culture is one of moral, ethical, and community responsibility - that's why we host so many fund raisers and why our staff happily donates all of their earnings on these nights to organizations like Hospice of Northwest Ohio." - says Jonathan Phillips, Owner/Operator of Sukit Hookah.
