Virginia Veterinary Medical Association Announces 2013 Mentor Of The Year Award
Dr. Gary Brown Receives Award In Recognition Of His Contributions To The Mentor Program
PRINCETON, WA, May 01, 2013
The Virginia Veterinary Medical Association (http://www.vvma.org/) has announced that Gary Brown, D.V.M., of Animal Care Center, PLLC, has received the 2013 Mentor of the Year award for his contributions and dedication to the organization's mentor program. Dr. Brown was presented with this prestigious award at the 2013 Virginia Veterinary Conference on Friday, March 1 at the Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center, located at 110 Shenandoah Ave in Roanoke, Va.Brown obtained his doctor of veterinary medicine degree from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. Brown is an owner of small animal practices in Princeton, W.Va., and Pearisburg, Va. In 2008, he was elected vice president of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), where he served as a liaison to the student AVMA and student chapters, as well as a voting member of the executive board. Brown was recently elected to be the next District V AVMA executive board representative. In this position, he will represent Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and West Virginia. He is an active member of the Virginia Veterinary Medical Association (VVMA) as well as the West Virginia Veterinary Medical Association (WVVMA). In addition, Brown has participated in the VVMA mentor program since 2005.
