Cutting Loose Salon recently held a Locks of Love drive at the Honore Avenue location. This year the event hosted a mother daughter team (Jacque Garcia and Julie Garcia) who grew their hair to the length necessary to participate. Surprisingly the salon mother son stylist team of Coral Pleas and Travis Scheuer handled the makeovers for the clients. Coral Pleas, chief operating officer has personally participated in this project for more than six years and encourages the staff to not only support this organization but multiple community and charitable concerns. Once again, students and their families of Cardinal Mooney High School spent the day having new hair styles created and donating their hair to Locks of Love.

Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. They meet a unique need for children by using donated hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetics. Most of the children helped by Locks of Love have lost their hair due to a medical condition called alopecia areata, which has no known cause or cure. The prostheses provided helps to restore their self-esteem and their confidence, enabling them to face the world and their peers.
