GlobalSat Partners with SecuraTrac to Pioneer New Technology for mHealth

In order to meet the demands of the emerging mobile health (mHealth) market, GlobalSat created a hardware solution featuring an SOS button that can be pressed for 3 seconds to send an SOS email or text message to pre-programmed contacts. The MobileDefender combines GlobalSat's cutting edge mHealth hardware solution with SecuraTrac's proprietary software platform to create the first 3G mHealth solution that enables seniors to contact emergency help at any time and in any location with just the simple press of a button.

The MobileDefender is a small and light (approximately 2 ounces) pendant, about the size of a car key fob that is typically worn with a lanyard around the neck. The MobileDefender can place or receive emergency calls, send SOS messages, and wirelessly connect to personal health sensors including a waterproof fall detector in the form of an adhesive bandage.. Holding the SOS button on the MobileDefender also triggers up to a series of four phone calls to be placed to emergency call centers and contacts. It has a sensitive microphone capable of picking-up clear voices from at least 5 feet, and a high-power speaker making it easy to hear when a call is answered.
