Advent Consumer Healthcare Introduces The At Heart Emergency Aspirin Dispenser

Taking An Aspirin During A Heart Attack May Reduce the Risk of Death By Up To 23%

2013-05-10
CEDAR GROVE, NJ, May 10, 2013 (Press-News.org) When suffering a heart attack, seconds count. That's why at the first onset of heart attack symptoms, the American Heart Association recommends calling 911 and chewing an aspirin tablet. When that aspirin tablet is readily available via the At Heart emergency aspirin dispenser, a life could be saved.

According to Frank Alvino, president and chief operating officer of Advent Consumer Healthcare, LLC, the company that invented At Heart , the product is a potential lifesaver. "There are about a million heart attacks a year, and about half of the people do not survive a heart attack," said Alvino.  "Most of the heart attacks occur when someone is away from home, and most heart attack deaths occur before the patient gets to the hospital.  Taking an aspirin during a suspected heart attack has been shown to greatly reduce the risk of dying."

The accessibility of the aspirins are key -- in a FDA-reviewed clinical study of over 16,000 patients, chewing an aspirin during a suspected heart attack and continued use for 30 days thereafter reduces the risk of death by up to 23%. If taken during a suspected heart attack, aspirin can also lessen the damaging effects of the attack.  Advent Consumer Healthcare developed the At Heart emergency aspirin dispenser, a small red container which contains two 325 mg aspirin tablets and can be attached to a keychain or carried in a purse or pocket.

Rosie O'Donnell discussed her heart attack on the 10/25/12 Dr. Oz Show, and called the At Heart dispenser a lifesaver that she "...never leaves home without."

At Heart is available exclusively online through the efforts of Science Based HealthCare LLC, led by Mark Prus CEO. "The upside potential for a product like At Heart is huge," said Prus.  "Good candidates for the At Heart product include men and women over 40, adults with a family history of heart disease, adults who don't get regular physical activity, adults who smoke, adults who are obese, and adults who have diabetes, high cholesterol, or high blood pressure. Around 85 million people have some form of cardiovascular disease, and many of these people don't recognize that they're at risk." Prus also notes that it is obviously a good idea to know your heart attack warning signals and to discuss the use of aspirin with your doctor.

The two blister-sealed 325 mg aspirin tablets in the At Heart product are easy to access and always protected from the elements.  At Heart is available only online from the website http://www.At-Heart.com or Amazon.com.
