BOULDER, CO, May 16, 2013 (Press-News.org) ASD Inc., the global leader in high-performance analytical instrumentation and material analysis solutions, today announced it is expanding its presence in the Southern Africa mining industry with the addition of reseller United Spectrometer Technologies cc to its growing network.
United Spectrometer Technologies will resell ASD's popular TerraSpec line of mineral analyzers, used extensively in mining exploration and production worldwide. In mining production, the rapid analysis capabilities of the TerraSpec line allows for characterizing hundreds of mineralogical samples per day. It is the defacto instrument for non-destructive identification of critical indicator and problem gangue minerals, along with the quantification of other important metallurgical properties that can affect the production process and ore recovery.
Established in 2007, United Spectrometer Technologies distributes to more than 30 mineral-rich countries in Southern Africa, a region that produces much of the world's uranium, copper, diamonds and gold.
"Mine operations in Southern Africa face unique challenges compared to other markets," said Ingo Steinhage, managing member at United Spectrometer Technologies. "Our mission is to supply high-integrity, reliable analytical instrumentation throughout Southern Africa. ASD's TerraSpec line performs a critical role for mine operators, identifying key ore bodies and acid-consuming minerals more quickly, which supports our mission and increased production efficiencies for our customers."
"United Spectrometer Technologies is a young company serving a large market, but the leadership understands the needs of their customers and what instruments are the most beneficial to Southern African mining, including our TerraSpec line," said Michael Lands, ASD vice president of sales and marketing, NIR. "We're pleased to welcome this new reseller into the ASD and PANalytical family and look forward to successfully expanding our market share in the South African mining market."
