DALLAS, TX, May 25, 2013 (Press-News.org) Partners Kenneth R. Glaser and Michael W. Dubner of Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP have been named to the inaugural listing of "IP Stars" by the publishers of Managing Intellectual Property magazine. The full list of leading intellectual property attorneys from across the United States appears in the publication's IP Handbook.
The 2013 "IP Stars" were determined through a state-by-state analysis and nominations submitted by law firm attorneys and in-house counsel, culminating with independent research conducted by Managing Intellectual Property's editors through surveys and interviews.
As chair of Gardere's Intellectual Property Practice Group, Mr. Glaser represents domestic and multinational companies in a wide array of IP issues. His more than 40 years of experience is put to work on transactional and litigation matters, including guiding the management of IP portfolios as in-house corporate patent counsel to various clients. Mr. Glaser believes avoiding IP litigation is one of the most important services an IP lawyer can provide, and he focuses on helping clients understand how their IP rights can be one of their most valuable assets. When legal disputes cannot be prevented, Mr. Glaser tactfully works with clients to recover monetary damages and/or create mutually beneficial strategic alliances. Mr. Glaser consistently earns recognition in Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business and The Best Lawyers in America based on his expertise in IP and patent law.
Mr. Dubner, also a partner in Gardere's IP Practice Group, is a registered patent attorney who provides experience in the oil and gas and technology industries, among others. He enforces and licenses clients' IP portfolios, and develops, manages and procures patent and trademark portfolios at home and abroad. A proponent of the cost savings realized through litigation avoidance, Mr. Dubner often identifies third-party IP rights for his clients and provides opinions concerning non-infringement and validity. While his primary emphasis is on patent protection and counseling, Mr. Dubner also is well-versed in strategic litigation management, and copyright and trademark protection and prosecution.
"Protecting clients' great ideas is a priority at Gardere and I am pleased that Managing IP chose to recognize these skilled lawyers," says Gardere Managing Partner Steve Good. "Over the past nine months, we've grown our IP practice with the addition of five experienced attorneys, making our IP group stronger than ever."
Founded in 1990, Managing IP is a leading source of news and analysis on IP developments worldwide. The "IP Stars" distinction was created to expand Managing IP magazine's review of leading attorneys in the field of IP. A complete list of honorees is available online at http://www.miphandbook.com.
Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP, an Am Law 200 firm founded in 1909 and one of the Southwest's largest full-service law firms, has offices in Austin, Dallas, Houston and Mexico City.
