AKRON, OH, May 30, 2013 (Press-News.org) Union Process, Inc., known globally as a manufacturer of particle size reduction and dispersion equipment as well as a provider of related services for a broad range of research and industrial applications, has manufactured a special dry grinding SD-30 Attritor that will be used for producing the raw materials used in lithium ion batteries.
The SD-30 dry grinding Attritor with its water-cooled jacket for good temperature control, was designed with a special dry well gear reducer connected to the motor via a direct drive coupling. A tilting assembly facilitates removal of the dispersion equipment's shaft for maintenance and cleaning.
Product is discharged through two plug valve assemblies with tungsten carbide-faced stainless steel bar grids. The cover is a stainless steel one-piece design with a floating Teflon seal for dust control.
The grinding and dispersion equipment is also mounted on a custom designed frame riser, which allows the processed material to be discharged into containers for final packaging.
