GRAND RAPIDS, MI, June 03, 2013 (Press-News.org) New Belgium Brewing's Clips Beer & Film Tour, an event which has been celebrated in over 20 other cities, will be coming to downtown Grand Rapids' Ah-Nab-Awen Park this June 21st, 2013. Over 18 of the brewing company's "esoteric" Lips of Faith craft beers will be on tap at the picnic-style event. At dusk, there will be a ninety-minute reel of the winning shorts in the 2013 Clips national film competition. Attendees are encouraged to bike, walk, and ride The Rapid; valet bicycle parking will be provided. At the end of the night, two custom bicycles will be raffled off.
Festivities begin at 8:30pm.
New Belgium's 2013 fat tire cruiser will be raffled alongside a high end fat bike built by Freewheeler Bike Shop on a Grand Rapids-made 616 Bicycle Fabrication steel frame. The fat bike has an estimated $4,000 retail value. Raffle tickets for the bikes are $5, or 5 for $20, and can be purchased at the event, Freewheeler Bike Shop, Central District Cyclery, or at a variety of events.
This will be the Clips Beer & Film Tour's first event held in Michigan.
Proceeds from the event and raffle will go to Room to Ride, the Greater Grand Rapids Bicycle Coalition's campaign for bike lanes on 100 miles of streets in Metro Grand Rapids.
Beer and raffle tickets will be available for purchase via cash or credit. Government ID will be required for alcohol sales. The lawn will be used as seating, and attendees are invited to bring their own blankets or low chairs. Leashed dogs are allowed.
