HERNDON, VA, November 03, 2010 (Press-News.org) Readers love to read about regular people working to be liberated from their demons while searching for personal salvation.
In The Identity Man, Edgar Award winning author Andrew Klavan puts a new twist on the time-honored topic of redemption. In this newly released thriller, petty thief John Shannon gets a shot at redemption forced upon him when a mysterious man gives him a totally new identity. How Shannon handles his compulsory deliverance is tested by his own past (as well as by the fact that someone is trying to kill him).
Klavan is a great writer, so you're going to really enjoy The Identity Man.
I read The Identity Man this week while I was taking breaks from preparing commentary about the upcoming election. About mid-way through The Identity Man it dawned on me that the choices facing Klavan's protagonist were similar to those facing the Republican Party in Washington.
John Shannon got a new identity but was warned by his secret benefactor that he will likely fall back to his old ways. Likewise, in this election cycle, the Tea Party movement has given a new face to the GOP. Its one which forces the party back to some core values on spending and fiscal responsibility. Whether the Tea Party movement forces the party to find redemption, or whether they fall back to their old ways remains to be seen.
Get a copy of The Identity Man and read it. Then put it on the shelf to read again in 2012.
