ATLANTA, GA, June 12, 2013 (Press-News.org) Writer, Producer and show creator, Lashanda Willis has announced that "Dishes: The Series" is currently in pre-production. The series is a mockumentary about the staff of an Atlanta restaurant, their experiences with customers and life. The explosion of online video in recent years has been fuelled, and leads, by pioneer creators. Lashanda has joined those discovering a brand new world. Joining forces with her partner, Producer Shakesha Dennis-Williams, production begins in the fall of 2013.
The concept of the show came to Willis back in the winter of 2012, and a few days later, the first script for "Dishes: The Series" had been written. The main character, Terry Luck is the lovable, hysterical lead of this funny, smart and charismatic series and is based on show creator, Lashanda Willis. Sam's Atlanta is the scene for Dishes. Headed by handsome head chef, DJ, and managed by Jeff Matthews, the crew finds themselves in unbelievable situations, all the while being "filmed" by a documentary crew. Creating the world of Sam's Atlanta proved to be an essential element to the show. With a multi-ethnic cast, the show creators believe that no matter your race, gender, or age, you will find a character to relate to on "Dishes". Currently, the team is in pre-production for the pilot episode, writing the script, filming as well as planning the first season. "I am amazed at Lashanda's level of dedication to the show and feel really excited as we near production", says Shakesha Dennis-Williams, producer of Dishes. "She is not only a gifted actress and writer, but she is an awesome producing partner."
About Lashanda:
Lashanda, a student at Georgia State University, has started the journey of a lifetime. Understanding and focusing on the incredible medium of web tv, led to Lashanda's interest and pursuit of the perfect show for this medium. Lashanda is a native of Atlanta. Lashanda's military and theater background has provided her with an excellent foundation to launch this web series.
Goal:
"Dishes: The Series" hopes to raise $50,000 on their crowdfunding project at http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/dishes-the-series/x/2842194. The money raised will go directly into the project - towards cast, crew, sets, props, equipment, as well as future episodes.
By pledging to the campaign, funders not only get a bunch of awesome and exclusive rewards and merchandise (such as t-shirts and even a cameo in the show), but will also be acknowledged as important people on the Dishes: The Series Facebook page that helped bring this project to life.
