Interactive Day San Diego Announces SharkTank Competitors

The hottest startups in digital flock to pitch their business and compete for backing at the West Coast's premier digital marketing event

SAN DIEGO, CA, June 19, 2013 (Press-News.org) Participants of SharkTank, Interactive Day San Diego's own startup competition, have been finalized; sponsors San Diego Ad Club, Procopio, LaunchPad, Silicon Valley Bank, and Cooley and creator Chad Robley today announced. Returning to the leading digital marketing event for its second year, SharkTank gives tech and digital entrepreneurs the chance to launch their business on the biggest stage in technology. This fast-paced, dynamic competition brings twelve top up-and-comers together to deliver a three-minute pitch and face off for valuable investor backing, all live at IDSD on June 21.

Handpicked from over fifty applicants, selected SharkTank 2013 competitors include Blurtopia, Curvo Labs, Tryspree, Dealstruck, SprinkleBit, SOCI, Inc., Find Me Gluten Free, Citybot, Taphunter, GoFormz, DonationMatch, and Yapert.

Participants will complete a three-minute pitch in front of IDSD attendees; moderator Chad Robley, CEO of Mindgruve and Mindgruve Ventures; and "sharks" Howard Lindzon, Co-Founder and CEO of StockTwits ; Brian Mesic, Partner at Anthem Venture Partners; and Ray Tonsing, Managing Director of Caffeinated Capital. Judges will then have time to ask questions and determine the final two startups. The IDSD audience will vote for the company they want to see win Best Startup and $5,000 in backing from Procopio. Additionally, new for 2013 is a feature that allows all applicants, even those not selected to pitch live, the opportunity to hold a one-on-one meeting with potential investors, or "whales."
