LAKE GENEVA, WI, November 12, 2010 (Press-News.org) The Cove of Lake Geneva has once again become an official drop-off location for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve 'Toys for Tots Program'. The mission of the program is to collect new, unwrapped toys which will be distributed as Christmas gifts to the less fortunate children in the area where the campaign is held.
This year will mark the 63rd year the program has run, with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Program distributing more than 400 million toys to more than 188 million needy children. Each year this program grows in drop-off locations, toys donated, and children receiving toys.
The U.S. Marine Corps Reserve's goal with the 'Toys for Tots Program' is to promote a message of hope to the less fortunate children. They do it with the anticipation that these children will grow up to become responsible citizens by learning about the generous gifts community members can bring to one another.
The ultimate success of this program depends on the generosity of the community and their gracious donations. Through this program, the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves aim to unite all members of local communities in a common cause, through the annual toy collection and distribution campaign, with the hopes of building better communities in the future.
The 'Toys for Tots Program' will be accepting new, unwrapped toys at The Cove of Lake Geneva, located at 111 Center St. Lake Geneva, WI, through December 15th. The donation box will be located in the main lobby of the Resort and those who donate will receive a 10% off coupon that may be used in conjunction with other offers and discounts on a future stay at The Cove of Lake Geneva.
