IRVING, TX, February 20, 2014 (Press-News.org) This week Minimally Invasive SpineCARE, a nationally acclaimed spine center headquartered in Irving, Texas, will drop "Minimally Invasive" from its name. Going forward, the practice will be known simply as SpineCARE.
"Our philosophy has always been to explore all non-surgical solutions first and consider minimally invasive surgery as a last resort. Although non-surgical options are the most minimally invasive, for most people 'minimally invasive' is synonymous with surgery, and that's not truly reflective of our brand. We want our name to be synonymous with the best and most comprehensive spine care possible, not just minimally invasive surgery," said Dr. Douglas Won, founder and director of SpineCARE.
The new name speaks to everything SpineCARE has to offer, including a focus on pain management and rehabilitation. Pain management includes a wide variety of services and procedures, such as the No Incision Pain Procedure (NIPP), electromyography, injections and other forms of medication, discography and more. Rehabilitation includes numerous physical therapy and chiropractic options.
Dr. Won has more than 15 years of experience in medicine and more than a decade helping people manage back pain. Approximately 95% of his patients are treated non-surgically, but when surgery is necessary, Dr. Won employs the most non-invasive methods possible.
"Not only do we make the smallest incisions possible, but we also use equipment that goes between the muscles instead of tearing them," explained Dr. Won. "Some doctors say they're minimally invasive because they make small incisions, but they use expandable retractors and other tools that can do as much damage as open-back surgery."
A division of Lumin Health in Irving, Texas, SpineCARE is a nationally acclaimed, comprehensive spine center dedicated to providing the most effective answers to back and neck problems. SpineCARE has 10 locations throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The practice is affiliated with Star Medical Center, a new surgical hospital in Plano, Texas, and OrthoCARE, which focuses on orthopedics, foot and ankle care, and sports medicine.
