Mr. Downey has 41 years of professional experience, with four years as the president and owner of CBI Livestock Brokers. Over the years, he has established himself as an expert in the areas of feeder lots, commodities and financing. Each day, he oversees the daily operations of CBI Livestock Brokers, in particular the buying and selling of feeder cattle.
Looking back, Mr. Downey attributes his success to his hard work, dedication and honesty. He became involved in his profession after growing up on a ranch and returning to this rural way of life later on in his career.
Mr. Downey received a Bachelor of Science in animal science from Western Texas State University in 1973. In addition to his degree, he is a Nationally Certified Livestock Appraiser. He was recently inducted into Worldwide Branding and also maintains affiliation with the Texas Cattle Feeders Association and the National Cattlemen's Beef Association. In years to come, Mr. Downey hopes to grow on a personal and professional level.
