Raquel Roque Herring, First Black Female Mousketeer, Speaks at Gospel Music Worship of America

The invitation-only panel that Raquel Roque Herring will speak on is the 47th Annual Board Meeting for the Gospel Music Workshop of America being held March 10 - 13, 2014.

2014-03-13
LOS ANGELES, CA, March 13, 2014 (Press-News.org) Raquel Herring best known as Roque (pronounced roc-key) is an American singer, songwriter, actress, speaker and producer. Known for her rich vocals and big voice, Roque has quite a hefty portfolio. You may remember Roque as the first African-American ingenue casted as a series regular for the Disney Channel's sketch comedy and music series The Mickey Mouse Club (MMC) where she showed off her quirky antics, her powerful pipes, and likable persona. Chosen from many aspiring child stars with two seasons to her credit, she soars among the elite list of superstar alumni, such as Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake, and Britney Spears. You might also recognize her as Jill Carson in the movie Nora's Hair Salon starring Tatyana Ali, Jennifer Lewis and Tamala Jones, or where the gifted performer landed a unique opportunity to showcase her talent to the world on Ed McMahon's Star Search where she was the first teen to reign as champion for twelve consecutive weeks and awarded the distinction of being Star Search's Champion Best Teen Vocalist and Best Teen Performer.

Roque was invited as a guest panelist for the 47th Annual Board Meeting for the Gospel Music Workshop of America (GMWA), founded by Rev. James Cleveland, held March 10 - 13, 2014. She discussed the ins and outs of casting in Hollywood and the music industry. Roque represented 3R Entertainment Group where she has recently signed on as a talent consultant developing new artist and holding Skype coaching sessions for aspiring and seasoned singers and actors.

Roque stepped away from the music scene in years past after being signed to Interscope Records and began working behind the scenes establishing a successful talent management and production company, managing actors, singers, writers and producers. Her curiosity keeps her working in many facets of the entertainment industry.

She has recently returned to music with her debut album LOUD FOR CHRIST, an eclectic collection of praise and worships songs. Characterized by up-tempo grooves, foot-stomping tracks with booming bass and breath-taking ballads, LOUD FOR CHRIST is a musical masterpiece, a groundbreaking album that defies the boundaries of gospel music.

Roque's LOUD FOR CHRIST is available now on iTunes at http://bit.ly/14oapcq.
You can get a free download and exclusive tracks by visiting Roque's website at http://www.myRoque.com. Find out more about Roque's speaking at http://www.RaquelHerring.com.
