NEW YORK, NY, April 02, 2014 (Press-News.org) Networking Lucky Chapter 62, (http://www.bnilucky62.com/), announced today that they will be partnering up with the New York Blood Center in a lifesaving mission to restore the blood bank's blood supply in the wake of the recent winter storms that resulted in a high number of blood drive cancellations. On Wednesday, April 2, 2014, Lucky Chapter 62 and the New York Blood Center will be holding a mobile blood drive from 8:30am to 1:00pm outside of 27 Union Square West, New York, NY 10003. Appointments can be made through http://goo.gl/wyP4VN; walk-ins are welcome as well. Through this philanthropic partnership, Lucky Chapter 62 hopes to bring more awareness to the local community's dependence on volunteer blood donors.
"Our Lucky Chapter 62 is full of hard-working, high integrity professionals who always have new innovative ideas about giving back to their communities," begins Philanthropy Coordinator of Lucky Chapter 62, Jennifer S. Wilkov. "We believe in the philosophy of 'Givers Gain' and like to brainstorm useful charitable opportunities that allow us to give on multiple platforms to support the causes we care about. When I read in the local subway paper that the blood supply had reached a state of emergency in New York City due to the impact of the winter storms we've had, The New York Blood Center seemed like a great cause in need of more attention that we could support. Since becoming aware of such a recent severe life-threatening shortage for so many New Yorkers, we wanted to help and lend a hand in providing our community with emergency care such as blood supply."
Lucky Chapter 62 is a professional network of dedicated entrepreneurial individuals and industry specialists exclusive to the New York City area. As a way of obtaining a frequent safe, reliable, and high quality blood supply, the New York Blood Bank is committed to the recruitment of dedicated volunteer blood donors. Every pint of blood is screened for markers of transfusion-transmissible diseases such as HIV, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, HTLV-½, Syphilis, West Nile Virus, and T. Cruzi. Additional tests are also performed on all donors whose screening results come out positive to provide them with medical information they may need.
"Many people forget how much blood banks depend on volunteer donors," begins Director of Donor Relations of the New York Blood Bank, Michele Lariviere. "Because of all of the recent winter storms that have affected our area, many of our donation events had to be canceled. We're happy to team up with Lucky Chapter 62 to bring more awareness to this issue, as well as to help increase our blood supply in this time of need."

About Lucky Chapter 62
Lucky Chapter 62 isn't just a gathering of disparate professionals. It's a setting that requires--and tracks--each member's commitment and investment. Members generate income for their businesses through quality referrals from members and guests; they gain recognition within the chapter; members and guests give and receive referrals positioned to expand and grow one another's businesses--gradually but exponentially. Each chapter admits only one person from each professional specialty. Therefore, they have only one web designer, one title insurance specialist, one life insurance expert, one financial advisor, one mortgage broker, one copywriter, and so forth. Competing visitors may visit as guests to explore synergies with the chapter members and to find another chapter to join, but may not deliver a commercial about their specialty.
