ST. LOUIS, MO, April 09, 2014 (Press-News.org) 3 Little Birds 4 Life, a national non-profit organization based in the St. Louis region, is happy to announce that their annual gala, Jamdown Rockas, was a huge success once more.
The event was held Sat., March 8 at the Hilton St. Louis at the Ballpark. Over 200 guests attended and enjoyed a night full of music, dancing, and fun. The theme was "Dinner in the Caribbean," and attendees arrived dressed in their best island casual attire.
All of the proceeds that were raised that night went directly toward granting wishes for cancer patients between the ages of 18 and 40. A total of $28,000 was raised that night, which will help grant dozens of wishes for cancer patients nationwide.
3 Little Birds 4 Life also granted a wish live at the gala for Jeremy Brown. Brown, who is currently a young cancer patient, was given a St. Louis Cardinals wish, which included an Adam Wainwright jersey, ball, a field visit for an upcoming game with the first pitch for 6 people, and 16 extra tickets for his family to watch.
"We are so thankful that we had so many people come out to enjoy a great time while donating to a worthy cause," said Ashley Swip, founder of 3 Little Birds 4 Life. "We know that the money that was raised for the event will bring joy to the lives of these young cancer patients as their wishes are granted this year."
The gala also featured a silent and live auction, lively steel drum entertainment to create a Jamaican mood, plated dinners, drinks, dancing, and several special guest appearances. An autographed guitar from musician Blake Shelton was also raffled off during the event.
Music was provided by Push the Limit, and Fish Eye Fun provided the photo booth, which patrons used to capture memorable moments from the evening.
3 Little Birds 4 Life's mission is to help grant the wishes of young adults between the ages of 18 and 40 who are suffering from any type of cancer at any stage. They are dedicated to raising awareness of young adult cancers and to granting wishes of these cancer patients.
A non-profit organization, 3 Little Birds 4 Life has locations in Collinsville, Chicago, Louisville, and Mattoon, Ill.
