If you have diabetes, you are at risk for diabetic foot problems. What does it mean to have diabetes, and why is it an issue for people's feet?

If a person has diabetes, it means he/she has too much glucose in the blood. And too much glucose can disturb normal blood flow and cause nerve damage.

"Diabetes can onset many foot problems, including foot ulcers, skin changes, neuropathy and poor circulation. Foot care is important for patients of all ages, but patients with diabetes need to be more strict and alert when caring for their feet.
