RALEIGH, NC, April 12, 2014 (Press-News.org) Nancy Bono, founding partner and president of Media Partners, Inc. (MPI), a strategic media marketing agency located in Raleigh, NC, has received a 2014 Triangle Business Journal's Women in Business Award as an entrepreneur. The award recognizes women who have proven to be dynamic and outstanding leaders with established track records in business and community service. Bono was presented the award at the 17th annual WIB luncheon earlier this week in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Bono came to North Carolina in 1995 and was hired by a media buying agency. Within months, she became vice president of account services and operations where she supervised a staff of 10 employees and more than tripled the company's billings over two years.
Bono's entrepreneurial spirit soon led her to start her own media buying company, where she focused on developing a culture of respect by creating partnerships with both clients and media reps. Then in 2001, she was presented with a business development opportunity that she couldn't refuse. Bono accepted a position in business development for a marketing and advertising agency where she helped the company grow from $150k to $3M within a few short years. But, in 2009 the economy turned, and Bono returned to her original business model, this time with business partner Sal Conino by her side.
Since then, the business has come to be known as Media Partners, Inc., (MPI for short) a multi-million dollar full-service marketing agency with an office in north Raleigh. This year marks the agency's five year anniversary, and the business has a staff of 15 employees with billings just under $5M.
"This award is well deserved and recognizes the true dedication that Nancy Bono brings to MPI," said MPI Partner Sal Conino. "As the year marks our fifth anniversary in business, the timing couldn't be better as we also celebrate the client relationships that have helped MPI become what it is today."
Both professionally and personally, Bono devotes time to organizations like the National MS Society and Hospice of Wake County. She also supports the annual Bike MS event, making the 30-mile ride each year a team building opportunity for MPI staff. In addition, Bono supports the Kinston, NC Eight-Eighties, Wounded Warrior Team's efforts to bring additional work to manufacturing businesses with a mission to create a "Made in America" label.
"I am honored and humbled to be recognized for entrepreneurial accomplishments," said MPI Partner Nancy Bono. "It was a wonderful feeling to be welcomed into this circle of great business leaders that I have admired during my years in Raleigh. This recognition reminds me that I can have the kind of company I want, and still be successful. At MPI, we value our clients, our partners and our people on the MPI team. Together, we are building long-lasting relationships that produce great work and great results. And, we are doing it with the kind of culture that makes us proud, every day. For that I am thankful."
