ANAHEIM, CA, April 15, 2014 (Press-News.org) Working the night shift on the Orthopedic floor at St. Joseph Hospital in Orange, Pratibha Seth can be found carefully checking on her patients, ensuring they're receiving the care they need. After 15 years as a nurse, Seth draws inspiration from her experiences, which is apparent in the conscientious care she gives each patient.
Seth is being honored as the March recipient of Fairhaven's Oliver Halsell Care Award. Fairhaven Memorial Park & Mortuary, with locations in Santa Ana and Mission Viejo, created the recognition program in 2012 to pay monthly tribute to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional care in their profession and community, improving the lives and spirits of those they help.
"As the nighttime nurse, Pratibha approaches her responsibilities with the utmost compassion and concern," said Marla Noel, President of Fairhaven. "She is a blessing and an angel of mercy to anyone suffering and in need of a gentle soul."
Nearly 20 years ago, Seth journeyed to the United States from India to be with her husband, leaving her parents and her familiar surroundings behind. While still in India, her father, a heart patient, had received compassionate care and inspired Seth's own career path. Seth enrolled at Santa Ana College to pursue a career as a nurse. Soon after, tragedy struck Seth's family -- her mother died suddenly from a heart attack, giving her even more motivation to pursue her career goal. She wanted to provide her patients with the care she was unable to give her mother.
As a nurse, Seth is required to care for the general well-being of patients, but she often goes above and beyond her duties. If a patient seems emotionally distraught, Seth takes the time to sit and talk until he or she feels better. A mother of two daughters - including the eldest daughter who is following in her footsteps as a nurse -- the Anaheim resident says she treats each patient the way she would her own family.
"I never would have expected to be honored for doing my job," commented Seth. "I try to give my patients whatever I have - my emotions and my best care."
Seth will be honored at Fairhaven's Oliver Halsell Care Awards banquet in November at Fairhaven's Mission Viejo location. The banquet honors a year's worth of achievements among the local community. Additionally, Fairhaven will make a donation in her honor to her selected charity, the Boys Town organization.

New Book Stops the Expansion of the Universe
2014-04-15
Bayramov's research in his new book - Mechanics of Natural Force - Flow Theory of Matter and Gravity argues that the cosmic red-shift is not caused by receding stars but by stellar gravitational flows, and shows that star-light coming from a remote star propagates asymmetrically through the gravitational flow of a local star. Star-light entering a star's gravitational sphere, drifts along the star's gravitational flow, and is accelerated both along its path of propagation, shifting-blue, and towards the local star, curving the star-light. On the other hand star-light exiting ...

A rose-red among a warm series of colors works best for fair-skinned people, as do cooler colors such as blue and green and so on. 2014-04-15
Police officers are trained to detect the smell of alcohol on a driver's breath, and to observe a person's conduct, as well as surrounding circumstances in determining intoxication. Estate of Gonzalez, a Lakewood Township officer let a drunken woman take the keys of a car after he arrested the driver, resulting in a crash that killed her and injured the passengers.

Sadly, these fatalities occurred despite the fact that several state laws exist aimed at eliminating drunk driving. For instance, while most people are well aware that a driver can be held criminally responsible if he or she gets behind the wheel after drinking, many may be surprised to learn that it is also possible that the establishments ...
