On November 8, Darren A. Nix, an RMA senior associate, gave a presentation on utilizing security technologies to the Forsyth County Bar Association at the Piedmont Club in Winston-Salem.
Nix's first presentation dealt with the relatively new technology of smartcards and their use as employee identification badges. Nix outlined secure methods of enrollment into smartcard identification systems and proper issuance procedures. He focused primarily on how adjudication processes can be utilized in the steps during enrollment and issuance to support security systems and create accountability through archived documentation of events.
Nix then presented on new video security technologies and video analytics. He instructed attendees on how to analyze security video for specific data, behavior, objects and situation awareness. He also highlighted the best ways for companies to save money through the use of video analytics.
Nix is an experienced security professional and systems designer with more than 21 years of project management and technical experience specializing in expert security systems design, threat and vulnerability assessment, risk identification and risk mitigation. He has served in both project and operations management roles and as a security consultant to federal, state and local agencies as well as many top business organizations. Mr. Nix is Board Certified by ASIS International as a Certified Protection Professional, holds a Department of Defense Secret clearance, has a Counterintelligence and Private Investigator Associate License through NC Private Protective Services, and is a member of the Security Products magazine Editorial Advisory Board.
