PEACHTREE CITY, GA, August 28, 2010 (Press-News.org) SIGVARIS has teamed up with Medtrade, the largest event in the home medical equipment industry, to offer home medical equipment providers the opportunity to become certified fitters of compression therapy products.
SIGVARIS' pre-conference event will take place on Monday, Nov. 15 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC) in Atlanta and will cover topics such as the anatomy of the venous system, venous disorders and treatments, varicose veins, chronic venous insufficiency, DVT, handling physician persciptions and compression thearpy.
Attendees will leave the seminar with knowledge about medical compression stockings as well as how to measure, fit and select the appropriate product for patients. The pre-conference is part of the annual fall Medtrade event. The cost to attend is $40, and all attendees will recieve a free one day pass to the Expo that takes place on Nov. 16-18.
"We have held a pre-conference seminar in conjunction with Medtrade for more than two years, and our customers have both benefited and appreciated having the two events coincide," says Judith Brannan, Education Manager for North America.
"Home medical equipment providers find great value in becoming certified fitters because referring physicians want to have the confidence that their patients are being well taken care of. The seminar is the perfect forum for medical equipment providers to, not only become certified fitters for compression garments but also, gain a better understanding of patients' medical conditions and the types of products that would best benefit them," Brannan adds.
SIGVARIS' Venous Disorders and Compression Thearpy Seminar meets criteria for accrediation through the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics (ABC) for 7.25 CEU's and the Board of Certification/Accrediation International (BOC) for 6.75 CPE's.
Those interested in the seminar may register online at http://www.medtrade.com by November 11.
