Free Women's Health Event in Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK, August 29, 2010 (Press-News.org) Medical doctors and other experts will be available to answer questions, make appointments and lend support that may help Oklahomans live healthier happier lives. Many valuable prizes will be presented throughout this event. There will be many interactive booths that focus on screenings for cardiovascular health and fitness, pain management and offer tips on healthy lifestyle choices, including relaxation and anti-aging techniques.

Local families can come and enjoy a free Women's Health Expo. Learn from the experts, receive free health screenings and gather cutting edge information and samples on a wide variety of women's health issues. Medical doctors and other experts will be present to answer questions, make appointments and lend support that may help Oklahomans live healthier happier lives. Many valuable prizes will be given away throughout this event. There will be many interactive booths that give screenings for cardiovascular health and fitness, pain management and offer tips on healthy lifestyle choices, including relaxation and anti-aging techniques.

Oklahoma City, OK, October 9, 2010 -- The OKC Health and Wellness Group, Ltd. is sponsoring a FREE Women's Health Expo beginning at 10a.m. October 9, 2010 at the Downtown Community Center in Edmond.

The OKC Health and Wellness Group, Ltd. along with the Edmond Downtown Community Center is hosting a Free Women's Health Expo, Saturday October 9 from 10am to 2pm. The location is 28 E. Main Street in Edmond, Oklahoma. We encourage moms and daughters, grandmothers and sisters to bring the whole family to learn more about preventable diseases, symptoms, lifestyle choices, food selection, exercise programs and more to make it easy for Oklahomans to keep their families healthy.

There will be several 30 minute mini-lecture presentations including topics on: "The Hormone Effect" presented by Dr. Paul Rothwell, former Chief of Staff at Deaconess Hospital; "Weight Loss Tricks for Women" given by Vicki Latham, PA-C; "Diet and Lifestyle Influences On Breast Cancer" presented by Keith Bishop, BSc Pharmacy and Clinical Nutritionist; "Pain Management Alternatives" given by Dr. Ryan Hanson, DC.

These brief presentations will be summarized with an "Ask the Experts" session, where the audience can find out specific information about their own health concerns, book appointments or consultations in a more private setting. There will be ample time to visit the exhibitor booths that have free samples or give aways and information about specific products available that may help women to achieve their health and wellness goals.

The OKC Health and Wellness Group, Ltd., is a new non-profit organization founded by Angela Collymore-Slovak, PhD. Dr. Collymore-Slovak is an adjunct professor of Life Sciences, small business owner and leads an on the go lifestyle with her family, which includes two young children. Dr. Collymore-Slovak felt the need to reach out to her community and promote education on wellness issues where there is always a way to incorporate her favorite subject, science. She sought out leaders in the Oklahoma City wellness community and formed a strong alliance of professionals with the same goals. Every member of our board is committed to the education of Oklahomans on issues such as: pain management alternatives; healthy lifestyle choices, nutrition, natural relaxation techniques, hair loss prevention, anti-aging, weight loss and the importance of hormone balancing. The techniques and any featured products are considered natural, chemical free and in many cases certified Vegan. We are excited to offer a forum for healthy living strategies here in Oklahoma City and the launch of THRIVE magazine.
