Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants Elects David G. Echelbarger to Board of Directors

FARMINGTON HILLS, MI, August 29, 2010 (Press-News.org) The Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA), has announced that David G. Echelbarger has been elected as a new member of its board of directors for the 2010-2011 season. The announcement was made by MACPA President and CEO Peggy Dzierzawski, CAE.

Echelbarger is a shareholder and the president and COO at Echelbarger, Himebaugh, Tamm & Co., P.C. in Grand Rapids. He concentrates his practice in accounting, business management and technology consulting and is responsible for the vision and direction of the firm, as the leader of the management team. He first joined the company in 1987 as a tax intern and has more than 14 years of experience in technology consulting and implementation.

A member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), he is also active in the International Consulting Network and the Information Technology Alliance. Additionally, he is currently on the board of trustees for the Gerontology Network and is an advisor to the finance committee of a nonprofit organization.

A 1988 graduate of Aquinas College, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting, Echelbarger resides in Alto, Mich.

Other officers appointed to the MACPA Board of Directors include John Pridnia, Muskegon, chair-elect; Ramona H. Pearson, Detroit, treasurer; Paul Steih, Ann Arbor, secretary; Jonathan D. Anibal, Commerce Township, immediate past chair; and Thomas H. Beard, Clinton Township, past chair. Also newly elected to the MACPA Board of Directors are Mark Faulkner, BBA, MST, CPA, Canton; Lori Kerch, CPA, MSF, Wolverine Lake; and Gary L. Riedlinger, CPA, PFS, Essexville.
