LateRooms.com - Enjoy Waltzes and Polkas at the Grand New Year's Concert in Bilbao

The Grand New Year's Concert in Bilbao will see some of Johann Strauss's most famous works performed by a top orchestra.

2010-12-14
BILBAO, SPAIN, December 14, 2010 (Press-News.org) Fans or waltzes, polkas and marches should be sure to book a ticket to the upcoming Grand New Year's Concert in Bilbao.

It sees the Strauss Festival Orchestra performing a variety of tunes by the composer of the same name.

Among the timeless hits guests with hotel Bilbao bookings will be able to enjoy are Fantasy Flowers, The Emperor's Waltz and Klipp Klapp, as well as potentially the most well-known and celebrated waltz of them all - Blue Danube.

Visitors heading to the Euskalduna Conference Centre and Concert Hall for the concert on January 1st 2011 can also expect to hear Radetzky, which is apparently normally greeted with plenty of clapping as it is played.

"The Strauss Festival Orchestra boasts a wonderful track record full of major successes achieved at many outstanding European auditoriums," noted the organisers.

They explained that the group has entertained audiences in locations as prestigious and diverse as the Tonhalle in Zurich, the Palau de Musica in Barcelona and Hamburg's Musikhalle.

Admission to this charming and festive occasion costs between EUR36 (GBP30.50) and EUR47, with the performance starting at 20:00 local time in the Auditorium.

Johann Strauss was an Austrian composer from the 19th century who was widely known as the Waltz King for the number of pieces he wrote in this style and the way he made the genre popular in Vienna.

For more information on this event, visit the Euskalduna website or contact the venue on +34 944 310 310.
