LateRooms.com - See The Snow Queen at Hall for Cornwall

Truro's Hall for Cornwall will unveil a new interpretation of The Snow Queen by Hans Christian Andersen next month.

2010-12-16
MANCHESTER, ENGLAND, December 16, 2010 (Press-News.org) The Hall for Cornwall in Truro is set to present a new version of The Snow Queen on Saturday January 8th.

Families spending time in one of the luxury hotels Cornwall has to offer may be tempted by this fresh interpretation of Hans Christian Andersen's classic fairy tale.

First published in 1845, The Snow Queen is considered one of the Danish author's greatest achievements and has previously been adapted for a number of films, TV programmes and animated features.

Gerda, the heroine of the tale, must find her best friend Kai and save him from the evil Snow Queen's frozen palace.

The narrative has been described by Hall for Cornwall as "an enchanting story of spiritual optimism tempered with fantasy and tragedy".

Audience members at the theatre will be treated to a version of the tale that combines the talents of the Cornish Sinfonia, the Cornish Youth Choir and Paul K Joyce, a musician who composed the theme tune to popular children's TV show Bob the Builder.

Tickets for the performance, which will begin at 17:00 GMT, are priced between GBP15 and GBP19.

For more information on this event, visit the Hall for Cornwall website or contact the venue on 01872 262466.

Most of us know this without attending law school or interacting with law enforcement agents, as a result of pop culture representations of the Miranda warnings. However, one thing that many might not understand despite frequent repetition of the right to remain silent, is how to properly invoke this right. Consider the case of Van Chester Thompkins. Thompkins was arrested and sat in virtual silence for nearly three hours after he was read his Miranda rights. ...

2010-12-16
Giving Bankruptcy Judges "Cramdown" Power To Address Foreclosure Crisis The downturn in the real estate market two years ago was a major factor in sending America into recession. The subprime mortgage crisis exposed a house of financial cards, and the first wave of mass foreclosures began. Today, a "new normal" of high unemployment and diminished property values has taken hold. The struggling economy itself, not overly fancy financial instruments, is pushing more and more people into foreclosure. And, for the most part, most of these home foreclosures no longer involve ...
