LONDON, ENGLAND, September 01, 2010 (Press-News.org) There will be a fashion theme at this year's Regent Street Festival, which sees the busy London road closed for the day so that people can enjoy a whole host of activities.
It takes place on Sunday September 26th and the organisers state that it is the only day of the year when the street is shut off to vehicles - a significant decision in such a traffic-heavy city.
Guests at London hotels will be offered the opportunity to wander down the car-free road and enjoy all sorts of spectacles, such as fashion shows, live music and in-store treats from retailers including Hamleys, Banana Republic and Tommy Hilfiger.
According to Visit London, there will be a great deal of entertainment for younger tourists at this free event.
Among the attractions will be living fashion statues, stilt walkers, a carousel and a Ben 10 monster truck parked up on the road.
The organisers remarked: "Always a themed event, this year will be no different, with the 'mile of style' set to embrace the West End fashion themed month of September - Fashion, Food and Festivals."
Last year, Regent Street was the surprise venue for a rooftop gig by award-winning rock group U2, with 5,000 people turning out to see the performance.
For more information on this event visit the Regent Street Online website.
