A full service Atlanta orthopedic practice, Southern Orthopaedic Specialists specializes in orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine.
For over ten years, Southern Orthopaedic Specialists has been supplying medical assistance for the student-athletes playing in the Chik-fil-A Bowl. This year, the game matched up the University of South Carolina Gamecocks and the Florida State University Seminoles.
"We are proud to continue our longstanding relationship with the Chik-fil-A Bowl here in Atlanta," explains Kitchi Joyce, Director of Administrative Services for Southern Orthopaedic Specialists. Joyce served as the Medical Liaison, addressing any medical needs either team encountered. Dr. Todd Schmidt and Dr. Michael Behr acted as the Medical Director and Assistant Medical Director, respectively. Dr. Snehal Dalal and Dr. Christopher Jarrett served as the two sideline physicians, one for each school, during the game. In addition, Southern Orthopaedic Specialists provided both teams with Certified Athletic Trainers for the entire week, as the teams practiced and prepared in Atlanta for the New Year's Eve game.
In the spirit of collaboration, Southern Orthopaedic Specialists also hosted a dinner for the medical staffs of both schools during the week of the bowl game.
The Chik-fil-A Bowl is a prestigious college football event featuring teams from the SEC and ACC amid the welcoming backdrop of Atlanta. Each year, hotels, restaurants and other attractions open their arms to the visiting schools, players and fans. 2011-01-06
The early reviews for Progeny, the fantasy novel by R.T. Kaelin, are starting to roll in and they have all been extremely positive. The praise for the first book of The Children of the White Lions series is effusive.
"When I picked up Progeny, I was soon swept up into a world so large, and a tale so relentless, that I could not put it down. The plot flows as strongly as a waterfall but manages to pace itself and keep the reader guessing. The disparate characters we meet along the way are intriguing and richly nuanced, reminding one of Tolkien's without being derivative. ...
