RALEIGH, NC, January 07, 2011 (Press-News.org) 2010 was a year of exceptional growth and achievement for Risk Management Associates, Inc. (RMA), a security consulting, design, training and investigation company based in Raleigh. Their expansion has prompted the hiring of seven new employees over the past year, and now RMA is announcing the creation of an IT security co-op program with Wake Technical Community College, which will offer one student the chance to gain valuable employment experience working in a paid intern position within the company.
The co-op program is the product of a partnership between RMA and Wake Tech, as part of a larger effort to provide local technical students with more hands-on job training and career opportunities. RMA's co-op program will provide a paid position to one student per semester in the Wake Tech Computer Technology and Engineering program.
"We're proud to offer these students the opportunity to learn a specific skill set within our field," said Mike Longmire, President and CEO of Risk Management Associates. "In this down economy, the most important thing for a graduating student to have on a resume is evidence of real, hands-on training in the workplace." Longmire also noted that the program would have its advantages for his company, as well. "It's definitely mutually beneficial. Not only does Wake Tech get to offer a paid co-op position to their students, RMA gets to employ one of the best and brightest in their computer technology and engineering program."
