The Recovery Place Alumni Foundation presents a successful program using the most current support techniques and technology.
Continual support post-rehab is critical for clients and families, and it is this seamless transition into the alumni association that adds to the relapse tool belt that supports success. The Recovery Place team wants to provide as much support as possible, and have redesigned their unique Alumni Foundation with this core goal.
Membership is available immediately to alumni of The Recovery Place via the TRP Alumni Foundation Facebook Group (http://www.facebook.com/groups/TRPalumni), with a dedicated Alumni website coming early in 2011.
Becoming alumni members via Facebook provides important contact with others in recovery, and gives immediate access to a broad library of videos, articles and inspirational success stories.
In the works is a comprehensive and interactive Alumni Foundation website featuring a monthly magazine, blogs, videos podcasts and an alumni event calendar. Each of these membership benefits is aimed at supporting recovery with both professional input and the important peer support crucial for recovering addicts and alcoholics.
Of particular note are the events. Life skills and positive socialization is integral to recovery, and The Recovery Place (http://www.TheRecoveryPlace.net) recognizes the crucial place that events have in ongoing success for its clients.
One of the reasons that relapse may occur for an addict or alcoholic in the recovery phase is falling back into the geographic and social habits that caused the drug and alcohol use in the first place. Replacing unhealthy choices with a lifestyle of healthy ones is one way to make sure success is possible long-term.
The Recovery Place Alumni Foundation events are aimed at bringing members and their families together in order to build positive lifelong relationships and mutual recovery support. Events include dinners, guest speakers, and other social gatherings. They may also include informational and therapeutic get-togethers.
