WYNNEWOOD, OK, January 11, 2011 (Press-News.org) Long-awaited funding came in for the G.W. Exotic Animal Park located in Wynnewood, Oklahoma and the park was able to purchase land to open the first ever lake resort with a zoo.
Now not only can you come see the nation's largest collection of exotic animals, including over 150 large cats, you can now enjoy fishing, camping, hiking and ATV trails along with nature hikes for schools and education groups.
Joe Schreibvogel says, "You must stay diverse in order to keep the people coming in." Mr. Schreibvogel used to tour doing magic and shows with the animals in order to grow and make the facility one of the best in the nation and now he says he is going to stay off the road at least for the next year or so in order to make the nation's first zoo-resort. "Giving people something new and different is what makes us number one in this industry," Schreibvogel stated. With a natural clear water lake and trails to ride on all while you enjoy the beautiful animals next door at the zoo will make this one of the nation's hot spots for tourism.
The park opened its all-new Tiki bar in the fall of 2010, so while you are enjoying the beauty of the animals, you can now sit in the cool breeze and enjoy your favorite cocktail, play bean bag toss, darts, and many other fun things.
"The neighboring Chamber of Commerces are excited to see the growth and expansion the park is doing for the community here. It is bringing in more people to eat at our restaurants and sleep in our motels," says one Pauls Valley Chamber member.
The G.W. Exotic Animal Park is a not for profit 501-c-3-org, for more information visit us at www.gwpark.org.
