Online t-shirt design service Shirtlab teams up with Volunteering England to offer fundraising through celebrity designed t-shirts

Shirtlab is working with Volunteering England to offer its members the opportunity to raise funds by enlisting a celebrity to design a t-shirt that will then be available on the Shirtlab website

2011-01-14
OXFORD, ENGLAND, January 14, 2011 (Press-News.org) Shirtlab is delighted to announce a second collaboration with Volunteering England, a charity dedicated to supporting volunteering across the country, in which charities can raise money by enlisting a celebrity to design a t-shirt. The celebrity T-shirts will be available to buy online, with a donation made per t-shirt sold, and a signed version will be auctioned during Volunteers' Week with all funds raised going direct to the nominated charity. For more information, visit http://www.shirtlab.co.uk or call 0800 1072144.

"This is an exciting opportunity for charities to ask their celebrity patrons to get involved in charity fundraising in a creative way," said Steve Beynon, founder of Shirtlab. "Many charities have connections to celebrities and are looking for new ways to involve them in their efforts, so we are anticipating a great deal of interest in the charitable venture."

When asked how Shirtlab is helping to facilitate the celebrity t-shirt design fundraising initiative, Steve replied; "The t-shirts will be designed using the Shirtlab online t-shirt design tools, and Volunteering England is offering to help charities to guide their celebrity patrons through the process if they need it. For every t-shirt of that design sold, GBP2 is donated directly to the charity, and we will also produce a t-shirt that can be signed by the celebrity to be auctioned off. It's quite a radical fundraising idea," Steve continued, "but I'm certain that when the charities see how easy it is to design a t-shirt using the Shirtlab design lab, they'll be dying to get their celebrity patrons to join in!"
