PowerColor, the cement-based sealant with sustained action against mould and bacteria

A grouting product from Technokolla that guarantees ultra-high standards of hygiene thanks to the revolutionary Silver Active technology, which provides active, constant protection against the formation of micro-organisms.

2010-09-03
SASSUOLO, ITALY, September 03, 2010 (Press-News.org) "PowerColor is a new generation type of cement-based sealant that ensures the utmost hygiene over time."
That's how Luigi Perrino, Technokolla's Technical Manager, presented the new product, fresh from the company's laboratories. "This grouting compound is able to efficiently prevent mould and bacteria from forming with a sustained action that lasts year after year thanks to its bacteriostatic and fungistatic properties."

An absolutely ground-breaking technology was used for creating PowerColor. It's called Silver Active system and makes use of the action of silver ions to combat moulds and microbes. Unlike the other, similar products available on the market, this new grouting compound guarantees an extremely efficient and sustained action over time, as shown by the tests performed by the Centro Ceramico of Bologna.
"The laboratory tests were conducted in accordance with a protocol that was specifically created to ascertain the efficacy of PowerColor," explained the Technical Manager, who has been working for the Sassuolo enterprise for the past ten years. "Samples examined after having been subjected to the washing action of water after a period of time, showed that the Silver Active system is able to provide active protection against the formation of mould and bacteria."

These grouting compounds are naturally ideal wherever high standards of hygiene are required, such as hospitals, swimming pools, common areas and bathrooms. "There is obviously no single application that's more suitable than another," explained Perrino, who began his career in one of the chemical industry's multinationals. "Bio-architecture, well-being and alternative solutions are now a prerogative of the entire building trade. And PowerColor is the alternative that makes our homes more healthful and safe."
To comply with these new dictates, the new cement-based grouting compound also features Color Save System technology, which allows its colors to remain unchanged year after year, and Water Repellent System, for the utmost water resistance.

This new product was launched during the same period as Technokolla received the gratifying confirmation of having obtained certification of conformity with the European standards for cement-based mortars (EN1504): "Ours is one of the first enterprises in the sector to have obtained this certification," concluded Perrino, "even though there is unfortunately very little said about such issues as yet. I truly believe that research and innovation have always been the foundations on which the "Technokolla world" is based: in little more than 13 years, we have achieved excellent results with regard to product quality and pioneering technology".
