Hotels-Paris.co.uk - Check Out EPMD While in Paris

Paris is set to welcome veteran rappers EPMD to the Elysee Montmartre alongside Army of the Pharaohs next month.

2011-01-20
PARIS, FRANCE, January 20, 2011 (Press-News.org) Hip-hop fans set to stay in Paris hotels in February may want to consider heading to the Elysee Montmartre to see veteran New York act EPMD perform.

The group, made up of Erick Sermon and Parrish Smith, have been entertaining audiences since 1986, although there was a period between 1993 and 1997 when the pair split up.

EPMD have released seven albums during their career and - oddly - every title features the word 'business' in it somewhere and each record has a song called Jane.

In terms of the music attendees from nearby accommodation such as Novotel Paris Est can expect to hear when the pair take the stage on February 20th 2011, many commentators compare their work to groups such as Public Enemy.

Sermon and Smith are close to Wu-Tang Clan star Method Man and have appeared on stage with him in recent years.

They will have DJ Scratch on stage with them in the French capital and joining them on the bill for the gig will be Army of the Pharaohs - a supergroup of East Coast rappers including vocalists such as Apathy, Esoteric, King Magnetic and Vinnie Paz, the Jedi Mind Tricks star who set up the act.

The Paris concert costs EUR33 (GBP27.60), with doors opening at 18:30 local time.

For more information on this event, visit the Elysee Montmartre website or contact the venue on +33 01 44 92 45 36.
