Adventure travel with a purpose comes to the canyons of Utah this summer challenging participants to conquer a wilderness river and sharpen photography skills while supporting America's largest conservation organization. John Fielder regarded as one of America's premier outdoor photographers and conservationists will lead a National Wildlife Federation photography workshop on Utah's Green River, August 26 to September 1.

"This is an excellent opportunity for anyone, regardless of prior rafting or photography experience, to learn from a legendary nature photographer while helping the nation's leading wildlife conservation organization on a river trip through one of the West's most spectacular and remote wild river wilderness areas," said Bill Dvorak, founder and owner of Dvorak Kayak and Rafting Expeditions, co-contributor and professional outfitter for the trip.

John Fielder is renowned for his photo illustrations of Colorado's wilderness and free flowing rivers. His work has been the leading effort in the formal protection of millions of acres of federal lands. Fielder's current work "Ranches of Colorado" is assisting in conservation easements for many of Colorado's most threatened ranches.

This adventure is being co-hosted by Fielder, Dvorak and the National Wildlife Federation http://www.nwf.org/. NWF will direct a major portion of the funds from this outing to further its programs regarding oil and gas, climate change and wildlife protection throughout the United States.

Events begin in Grand Junction, Colorado on August, 26th with a pre-trip slideshow and dinner hosted by Fielder and NWF. The next morning participants fly to the river put-in along Utah's Green River. Over the course of the next six days and five nights rafters will conquer 86 river miles accentuated with over 60 Class II-III rapids. Between whitewater thrills will be a curriculum designed and presented by John Fielder with an introductory slide show, one-on-one instruction, and sunrise and sunset photo shoots.

Tuition is $1,725 per person which includes workshop instruction (group and individual), 6 days and 5 nights of guided rafting, all meals, round trip transportation from Grand Junction to the river and back (air shuttle to river and van return) and all required rafting and safety equipment. Not included in the cost is transportation to/from Grand Junction, CO, Friday night and additional pre/post trip lodging if needed, personal expenses and gratuities.
