LAS VEGAS, NV, January 21, 2011 (Press-News.org) Noted television director, Don Barnhart, has just finished his second novel entitled, 'Crooked Road Straight'. This gritty Las Vegas crime drama comes on the heels of his first novel, 'Our Father's Sons', the tragicomedy of a four generational family of men searching for familial love. Both are now available on Amazon, Kindle and all e-book outlets.
A third hilarious novel is just now completed and will be available in about three to four weeks, entitled, 'Jacks and the Jills'. It's a fictional memoir based of a whole lot of truth and makes its literary impact during the not so innocent 'fifties'.
Mr. Barnhart was born and raised in those tumultuous years in the San Fernando Valley where his third novel originates. After barely sneaking through those times, his career took off in the early 'sixties' when he quickly became a radio personality while spinning the 'heavy hits' and yakking his way to popularity.
Soon after, Don entered his eventful television career by writing cue cards for Lawrence Welk (remember, a one an' a two'a? He actually had to put that on the cards) Later, he worked alongside Carol Burnett and that 'Baretta' guy, Robert Blake, just to namedrop a few contrarian performers he has dealt with.
During those formative years, his involvement with other bankable stars, the likes of Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr., prepared him for the unforgettable fun of directing Robin Williams and Jonathan Winters at the same time. Completely different types of performers, of course, but tough nonetheless. Oh, the stories...
Continuing to navigate through the unpredictable world of television, Mr. Barnhart rose to prominence of his own, helming many successful TV shows, his name listed on credits that still circle the globe in re-runs today.
Multiple episodes of "Saved by the Bell", "Mork and Mindy", "Benson" and "Full House" are just a few of the numerous hits Don has directed before settling into the provocative life as a novelist, an exciting journey that'll be difficult to entertain a detour.
Although Mr. Barnhart has been around the block a time, or two and has parked himself in a few garages, he currently lives with his beautiful wife, Kelly and their two rambunctious Standard Poodles, Jack and Rosie somewhere on the outskirts of Las Vegas.
For more information and a deeper look-see into the subject matter of his three novels, please go to: donlewisbarnhart.com. You may also purchase them, signed, of course, right off the web.
