SAN DIEGO, CA, January 26, 2011 (Press-News.org) San Diego Self Storage sponsored its annual holiday toy drive benefiting Toys for Tots by collecting toys at each of their 19 locations throughout the greater San Diego region. The successful campaign collected a record 8,570 toys. The US Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program provides underprivileged children with new toys at Christmas, with the purpose of delivering a message of hope and motivate them to grow into responsible, productive citizens and community leaders (www.toysfortots.org). Over 60,000 children benefitted from the toy distribution.
According to Managing Member J.Terry Aston, "We are very proud to announce that our twelfth annual Toys for Tots toy drive exceeded our expectations. We tripled the number of toys donated over last year and have been incredibly impressed with the outpouring of support, particularly given the current economic situation. This indicates that despite challenging times, people are willing to give to those less fortunate. We are pleased to have played a significant role in delivering toys to worthy children this holiday season."
