SANTA ANA, CA, January 27, 2011 (Press-News.org) Adventure Travel Mentor.com—An adventure travel planning Web site is launching a free directory of experts -"mentors"- including travel agents, tour operators, adventure activity guides, tourism offices and travel consultants. The purpose of this new directory is to connect knowledgeable professionals with a worldwide audience of active travelers.
Whether it's a high-adrenaline white water rafting trip through the Grand Canyon, a cultural tour in India, an African safari or an eco tour in the Amazon Basin, people are searching for unique experiences that will enrich their lives.
One problem that people on a quest for active vacations have is sifting through an overwhelming number of exciting choices for both domestic and overseas adventure travel. A new Web site is offering a solution by giving straightforward information about the most popular places to go and things to do in the world of adventure.
Robert Felton came up with the idea for Adventure Travel Mentor.com after going on a Gorilla trek in Rwanda. When he began to search for a new adventure he found many Web sites offering adventure tours, but none that gave him the kind of bottom-line information about places and activities he was looking for.
"I wanted a source of information that would rate and review different adventure travel destinations and activities to see if they were a good fit for me," said Felton. "I didn't find any, so after doing a lot of research I decided to start a Web site that would help others like me."
So, why this new directory? What's different about it? According to Felton it's a combination of a business and an article directory.
The article format gives the reader specialized information about a place or activity, and the expert can write an attribution telling all about themselves, their businesses and how they can be contacted at the end of their article.
The added benefit for the adventure travel professional is that they can tap into a highly-targeted audience of active travelers as opposed to a general audience like on the big online article sites.
Ultimately a travel professional will prove their mentor status to the reader by the quality of their submission.
Felton sees this new Adventure Travel Mentor directory as a win-win-win proposition. "This directory will help adventure travelers get the information they want, travel and adventure professionals can demonstrate their expertise and connect with potential clients and hopefully people will keep coming back to my Web site."
Adventure travel experts can get more information and submit their article (plus up to four photos) using the form at the following URL.
