COTSWOLD, ENGLAND, February 01, 2011 (Press-News.org) Bath's annual half marathon could provide a great day out for people with Cotswold hotel reservations later this year.
Commonly known as the Bath Half, the event is now in its 30th year and has become the UK's most prestigious warm-up race for the London Marathon.
This year's contest is due to take place on Sunday March 6th 2011, when hundreds of runners will put their powers of endurance to the test on a scenic route that winds through the city.
Due to the popularity of the event, both the general public and business team entries have already sold out.
However, the Bath Half also includes a family fun run that is open to all ages and abilities.
This event starts and finishes under the half marathon gantry in Great Pulteney Street, giving people an opportunity to complete a course that is just over 1.5 miles long.
All entrants who finish the fun run course receive a free T-shirt, medal and goody bag.
To enter, people will need to choose from one of the event's selected charities and pay a registration fee, which varies between different organisations.
Those who do not fancy taking part may still enjoy a trip to Bath to cheer on the competitors and enjoy the atmosphere on race day.
After a hard day of running, weary athletes may like to unwind in Cotswold accommodation such as the Tortworth Court Four Pillars Hotel, which can be booked through LateRooms.com.
For more information on this event, visit the Bath Half website.
