Value Energy Solutions Completes Energy Efficient Lighting Retrofit Project for Newburgh Envelope Corporation.

Newburgh Envelope reduces energy costs by upgrading lighting

2011-02-18
NEWBURGH, NY, February 18, 2011 (Press-News.org) Value Energy Solutions, one of the largest lighting installation and lighting retrofit companies in the nation, recently completed an energy efficient lighting retrofit project for Newburgh Envelope Corporation. Newburgh Envelope is a full service commercial printing company and the largest envelope printer in Hudson Valley. They are a 4th generation family-owned & operated business and like many companies -controlling their operating expenses is crucial to their success.

Newburgh Envelope contacted Jim Smith, North East Regional Manager for Value Energy Solutions to explore replacing and updating the lighting in their printing facility. Jim reviewed the existing lighting and discussed options to reduce lighting energy usage. Newburgh Envelope moved into the building in 1996 and the existing lighting was no longer as energy efficient compared to newer fluorescent lighting technology. To maximize energy savings and reduce upfront costs, Value Energy Solutions recommended retrofitting the existing lighting with more energy efficient T-5 adapters.
The T-5 adapters allowed Newburgh Envelope to use the more energy efficient lamps without the need to replace their existing fluorescent lighting fixtures. The energy savings from using T-5 adapters typically range from 45-70%, when replacing 4 foot T-8 or T-12 bulbs. Installing the T-5 adapters is a simple and quick procedure because the high efficiency low power ballast is built right into the adapter. Companies also benefit from reduced maintenance costs because the life expectancy of the T-5 adapters is 60,000 hours and they have a five year guarantee.

Lighting retrofits substantially reduce energy costs and these savings typically offset the upfront lighting replacement and installation costs within two to three years. Even for a small business these savings can be substantial. There are also a number of government and utility rebate and funding programs available to help defray the upfront costs of lighting retrofit projects.
For more information on available financing programs and energy efficient rebates in your area please contact Value Energy Solutions at 770.335.0909. To explore reducing lighting costs for your company or organization in the New York metro area please contact Jim Smith at 845.988.6755 or email j.smith@valueenergysolutions.com.
