Bezeq Selects Evolven Software to reduce IT Operational Expenses, Improve System Availability & Performance, and Reduce the Risks of Production Outages

Israel's largest telecommunications provider will use Evolven's software to make IT releases smoother and more predictable, avoid configuration drift, and cut incident investigation time.

2011-02-18
February 18, 2011 (Press-News.org) Bezeq, the Israeli Telecommunication Corporation, today announced that it has selected Evolven Software, the pioneer of Granular Configuration Automation solutions, with the goal of reducing IT operating expenses, improving system availability & performance, reducing the risk of production outages and cutting incident investigation time for Bezeq's core systems.

Following a rigorous evaluation process, the technology division at Bezeq selected Evolven Software to automate Change & Configuration Control in their most critical IT systems, including billing, CRM and web applications. These and other core Bezeq systems are subject to constant application and infrastructure configuration changes.

Initially Bezeq's IT team intends to use Evolven Software to monitor and track dynamic applications end-to-end, in their test environments, following which they'll use the software to validate that releases into production are configured as planned, down to the most granular levels. Additionally, Bezeq will be monitoring for unplanned configuration changes and drifts, to detect them as early as possible so as to proactively prevent incidents and downtime.

"At Bezeq we always strive to improve our processes and tools, and ultimately our performance, said Yaki Zano, Head of Software Development. "With Evolven, we plan to ensure the highest availability and performance of our systems, avoid configuration drift, make our releases smoother and more predictable, and cut incident investigation time. All of these have the potential of significantly impacting IT Operating expenses."

"We are aligned with Evolven's vision and focus on monitoring and comparing entire business applications, and identifying changes and differences at the most granular level. We believe that visibility and control of granular configurations can make a significant impact on stability and efficiency of our IT Operations," added Yaki.

"With Evolven, Bezeq can enjoy the highest level of environment stability, an acceleration in time-to-market of application updates, and a reduction in operational costs for infrastructure, application release and incident management," says Sasha Gilenson, Evolven's CEO, "with only a few hours from setup to results, Evolven offers fast time-to-value and insight into the critical changes and differences in Bezeq's core system environments. Now Bezeq will be able to address potential problems long before they escalate, reducing the risk of production outages and cutting incident investigation time and effort."

Ilan Oulu, Ticomsoft's Managing Director, and Israeli Reseller for Evolven adds, "Evolven offers something that is truly innovative. Evolven's Granular Configuration Automation solution allows IT organizations to gain configuration insights at a granular level without drowning in all the noise. Evolven helps organizations to mitigate risks associated with new releases and deployments, to detect drift and act upon them, and to significantly cut MTTR when incidents occur."
