Optellios Appoints Vice-President of Sales and Marketing

Optellios, Inc. announces the appointment of Brian Freeman as the company's new Vice-President of Sales and Marketing.

NEWTOWN, PA, March 02, 2011 (Press-News.org) Optellios, Inc., a developer and manufacturer of advanced fiber-optic sensing and security systems, has announced the appointment of Brian Freeman as the company's new Vice-President of Sales and Marketing, effective immediately. Mr. Freeman brings over 20 years of experience in managing and building successful sales teams in the security and telecommunication industries. Mr. Freeman has served in executive positions throughout his career with firms ranging from large multinationals to start-up ventures, which makes him uniquely qualified to lead Optellios to the next level of success.

Mr. Freeman's selection comes shortly after the appointment of David Smith as the company's President and Chief Executive Officer in November of 2010 and demonstrates Optellios' continuing commitment to the development of a premier sales and executive team. This strategic effort is designed to accelerate the Optellios sales initiative and build market share by focusing on the development of strategic partnerships as well as the expansion of existing distribution channels.
"Over the past decade Optellios has developed an extremely reliable and cost effective suite of fiber optic sensor products", said Brian Freeman. "My goal is to assemble a world class sales team intent on growing Optellios and strengthening our position as the leader in fiber optic sensor technology."

Prior to joining Optellios, Brian Freeman was the President of Senstar, Inc., a U.S. division of Senstar Corporation, where he managed sales, technical support, engineering functions, and personnel. As the leader of Senstar, Inc., he was responsible for providing perimeter intrusion detection systems to the corrections, military, nuclear energy, and critical infrastructure markets.
Prior to Senstar, Mr. Freeman spent several years with Verint Video Systems as the Vice-President of North America for the Enterprise and Critical Infrastructure group, delivering IP video and video analytic solutions in large enterprise environments including aviation, seaports, and other mission critical sites. Before that, Mr. Freeman worked in the telecommunications industry in various executive roles leading sales, customer service, and field support efforts.
