PARIS, FRANCE, September 08, 2010 (Press-News.org) It is not only youngsters who can learn something new at the Pariscience International Science Film Festival in Paris, but adults as well.
This educational yet fun occasion takes place from October 7th to 12th 2010, with all the action happening at the Museum National d'Histoire Naturelle and the Jardin des Plantes.
The festival was set up by the Association of Science and Television, which was founded in 2001 and aims to promote the coverage of scientific topics on television, as well as encourage international co-productions.
Visitors can be expected to take part in debates and workshops during this free event, which will also see a variety of scientific films screened.
The theme of this year's edition is biodiversity and will see seven major prizes handed out for the productions entered into the competition, in addition to plenty of lectures and sessions geared towards specific age ranges.
"As every year, screenings, lectures and debates will be held in the auditorium of the Great Gallery of Evolution and in the amphitheatre of the Museum of Natural History," revealed the organisers.
They also announced that Japan NHK will be the special guest and will be given carte blanche to create a producers' workshop for attendees.
To get to the venue, travellers should leave their Paris hotel and take the Metro to either Gare d'Austerlitz, Place Monge or Jussieu.
