Civil Rights Activist to form Protective Team for Public Housing Project Residents who fear their homes will be taken by local Government.

Many residents fear that their homes will be taken away from them now that the City of Clarksville, TN has released its Smart Growth 2030 Master Plan which calls for the demolition of the Lincoln Homes Public Housing Projects.

2010-09-08
CLARKSVILLE, TN, September 08, 2010 (Press-News.org) Tennessee Urban Resource Center Director, Terry McMoore, is in the process of forming a multiple agency group to help protect and legally represent the residents of the Lincoln Homes Housing projects in Clarksville, TN.

Many residents fear that their homes will be taken away from them now that the City of Clarksville has released its Smart Growth 2030 Master Plan which calls for the demolition of the Lincoln Homes Public Housing Projects.

Mr. McMoore is very concerned about the number of people who serve on multiple committees for the city, marketing groups, master planning and development teams. Some of these same people have also been or are currently working on the design, development and possible implementation of this Smart Growth Master Plan, all at the same time.

With over 14 standing committees, plus developers and marketing groups involved in the design of this massive growth plan and a lot of money at stake for the city of Clarksville and vested parties, it is vital that there are outside legal minds and agencies in place to protect the interests of the residents of Lincoln Homes.

A press conference will be held on Friday, September 10, 2010 in front of the Clarksville-Montgomery Public Library at 350 Pageant Lane, Clarksville, starting at 1:00 p.m. At this time we will reveal the organizations and legal teams involved in this matter.

We urge you, the Media, to attend!
